I just bought this GHD IV Salon Styler Hair Straightener - Wide Plates and it is amazing...My hair is coarse, curly, always intend to frizz and really hard to be straightened...But it is all in the past!!! I ordered my GHD 5 days ago from the Amazon's own retailer and even with free delivery I received them today and as I was so excited to use them and see the results I instantly used them on my hair without even bother to wash the hair before!!! And the result? with only 2 strokes on each section, it is perfectly straight!!! Unbelievable... I have got three other Straightener and with them I needed to blow dry my hair first, and then with 5-6 strokes on each small section, I could not get this result of perfectly frizz free straight hair!!! I am really amazed...I also spent hours outside today and the weather was not dry and nothing happened to my hair!!! It did not get frizzy, how strange and wonderful is that? I still can not believe it...
They are really really hot though when the little red light blinking and you need to be careful when using them and definitely use some heath protection on your hair; I use Treseme heath protection spray as I used it before with other Straightener.
It really is worth every penny you pay for that and do not waste your money on other ones; because I think you will have to buy this one at the end if you want a perfect look with minimum time spending and effort!!!
Go girls give it a try, you won't regret it...

Unlike the last reviewer, I HAVE that thick, curly hair!It took me all of 10 mins to create the straight hair I've never had. Absolutily wonderful! So glad I took advice to buy ghd's....if you're pondering whether or not to buy them.....JUST DO IT!

Firstly a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who took the time to write a review which helped with my decision on buying the product.

I have naturally curly thick hair which is down to my waist. It literally takes me 3 hours to blow dry my hair straight, and even then it still ends up in a frizz given the humidity / rain etc. I was ever so skeptical at first when told about the ghd, wondering if there ever was a product that could straighten and tame my hair, also the price slightly put me off, but I thought of all the times I would head to the salon and have it done and the price of the ghd worked out in my favour. So, I received my ghd in December and I am totally hooked!! It certainly does what it says and I am extremely happy with it. My hair is totally straight, the humidity and rain does not affect my hair (which really impressed me). Of course all that heat cannot be good for the hair so I ALWAYS use a heat protector serum. This is by far the best and most superior straightner I have ever used and will definitely replace my ghd with another if I ever need to. There is no umming and erring - go for it, you will be so pleased with yourself.

I bought these for my daughter for Christmas.

She is delighted with them, they heat up quickly and she says they just glide over her hair in the first pass, unlike mine which you have to more clamp and drag. The results are good and silky. However it's the long term where the benefits become clear as poor straighteners will break and damage hair.

So whether they live up to their reputation and are worth the extra money remains to be seen, but she is very pleased so far!

I had heard so much about GHD Staighteners that when mine broke I decided to try them. They are excellent. I am black and my hair has never been so straight. I highly recommend this product. Expensive but worth every penny.
